Much of the federal government is out of control because of the establishment of independent agencies and corporations. These operate autonomously on your dime without congressional control.

Cronies are appointed to head these agencies and corporations by the very industry they are supposed to regulate. It is a priori that this scenario is the root of federal corruption. You can elect whom ever you want, it will never change. When those who wield the power are never elected and thus never have to answer for their actions, a federal election amounts to nothing more than bad theater, a lie and a joke.
